What’s behind these benefits?
THURSO values apply to current Waterwalker, Expedition, Max and Tranquility Full Packages. Junior models and Board Only differ. Examples do not represent every brand or a shared performance/lifespan test.
- Woven drop-stitch core
- Woven drop-stitch helps the inflated board hold its shape. Simpler cores may flex under a rider’s load; pressure, board size and rider weight also affect flex.
- Fused double-layer PVC
- Fusion bonds two PVC layers to reinforce the outer shell. Single-layer examples have less material reinforcement; construction quality and care also affect resistance to knocks and wear.
- Heat-welded rails
- Heat-welded rails reduce reliance on glue at the seam. Glue-based joints can weaken with heat and age. This describes a construction trade-off, not a promised lifespan.
- Carbon hybrid paddle
- The Full Package paddle uses carbon-hybrid construction and adjusts for height. A heavier paddle means more weight to lift between strokes. Exact weights and fatigue vary by paddle and rider.
- Included in 2026 Full Package
- Selected 2026 adult Full Packages include a rechargeable electric pump, roller backpack and 10-Can Soft Cooler Bag. Basic kits may use manual pumps or simpler bags; check the selected package for exact contents.
- 30-day returns · terms apply
- 2026 boards have a 5-year limited warranty on their seams and 2 years on other board defects; accessory coverage differs. Returns are within 30 days of delivery. Customers pay change-of-mind return shipping.
Frequently Asked Questions
The paddle board model best suited for you depends on your needs and location. Most paddlers looking for leisure go for all-around paddle boards, but for specific uses like fishing, a fishing paddle board would be the best. The sizing chart will indicate the capacity of the rider(s) if you're worried about exceeding the weight limit.
Yes! THURSO SURF iSUP boards are designed with double layers of PVC, so they are extremely durable and can handle heavy usage. iSUPs are known to be more durable than wood paddle boards, and are also more portable and storable.
You can inflate your SUP using any one of our electric or hand-pump pumps designed specifically for inflating our line of iSUPs.
Our paddle boards have different features curated for different uses so you can get the most optimal experience out of them. For example, our yoga paddle board features a softer deck, our junior paddle boards are wider and more stable for children, and our touring paddle boards can cut through waters effortlessly.
There is a 2 Year Manufacturer Limited Warranty on all inflatable paddle boards (iSUPs) from date of purchase. We guarantee against any abnormal defect in workmanship and materials within this period.
Find a calm body of water such as a lake or bay as less waves = easier to balance. Most people like to start on their knees to get the feel for paddling and once comfortable, start standing up. The key is to not rush and take your time learning the correct strokes using guides or helpful tips.
The Thurso Max is the top choice for SUP fishing — 34 inches wide for maximum stability while casting, rated to 300 lbs to handle gear, and equipped with dual bungee systems and multiple D-rings for attaching rod holders, coolers, and tackle bags. Its multi-purpose design works for fishing, leisure, and yoga.
Yes. The Max's 34-inch width provides a stable platform for standing and casting. Most paddlers find they can stand and cast comfortably in calm water conditions. For choppy water, kneeling while casting is more stable. The full-length traction pad provides secure footing.
D-rings and bungee systems on the Max accommodate rod holders (use D-ring mount rod holders), soft coolers, tackle bags, a kayak anchor trolley, and a fish finder mount. Thurso's soft cooler deck bag is specifically designed to strap onto the board's front bungee system.
Yes. All standard fishing licence requirements apply when fishing from a paddle board. Check your local regulations as rules vary by state, province, and water body. Some areas also require a registration number displayed on any watercraft including paddle boards used for fishing.
Each has advantages. A SUP gives you a standing vantage point for spotting fish and longer casts. A kayak offers more stability when fighting large fish and more storage. Many anglers own both. The Thurso kayak seat accessory converts any Thurso SUP into a seated paddling position if you need a rest.
