  • THURSO SURF EXPEDITION is a Touring inflatable paddle board created for speed. Its streamlined body is precisely contoured to minimize drag, allowing you to cut the water more easily and paddle further. The sharp nose and narrow tail grant the desired maneuverability for tight turns and full control. The overall design allows both paddling at speed and carrying supplies for an expedition. Perfect for paddlers who like to paddle fast and/or go on long/multiday trips.
  • The THURSO SURF inflatable SUP boasts the strongest iSUP structure on the market, featuring DOUBLE LAYER construction with TRIPLE/QUAD Military Grade PVC coatings on the deck and side. On the deck a TWO-layer PVC coated tarpaulin is bonded to a PVC coated drop stitch core. Two of these PVC layers reinforce the sides. Deck and bottom seams are capped with two extra side wraps. This makes the SUP board lightweight, extremely durable, with the performance of a hardboard.
  • Our CARBON shaft paddle is far superior to those made from aluminum or fibreglass. It weighs only 2 lbs.! It’s stronger, it floats, and it can be converted to a kayak paddle with an extra blade (sold separately). The 3-piece construction makes it portable and it’s adjustable from 68’’ to 84’’.  The blade is tough nylon composite strengthened by a center rib to prevent warping under strain. Light and strong, our paddle is simply the best found in any iSUP package on the market.
  • THURSO SURF boards feature 3 removable fins, allowing two different set-ups. All 3 fins installed gives the board the best stability and manoeuvrability – ideal for rough water. Using just the center fin gives the board the best tracking and lowest drag – great for straight speed and for flat water. The two fin setups offer the ability to paddle using different techniques and in various water conditions. The Quick-Lock fin installation is a breeze – slide in and clip, no tool needed.
  • Top Engineering + Best Materials + Deluxe Accessories + Second-to-None Service = THURSO SURF. All of our products go through numerous analyses and tests before we finalize their material, shape, and design. We stand behind our products 100%. Buy with ABSOLUTE confidence – THURSO SURF Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboards have a two-year full warranty – you are covered for any manufacturer defect within 24 MONTHS of purchase.

best stand up paddle board brands

One of the greatest values in our add-on package is our CARBON shaft paddle. Weighing ONLY 2 lb / 900 g it floats and is much lighter than an aluminum or even fiberglass paddle. Try it and you’ll never want to go out on the water with another. With the new locking shaft mechanism, the SUP paddle can also be converted to a kayak paddle with the simple addition of a second blade (sold separately).

With the help of a sweet set of rugged wheels, our THURSO SURF ROLLER backpack makes that hike to the water so much easier. The premium nylon outer shell can withstand sunlight, sea water and sand. It’s tough, like all of our products, and provides excellent protection to your board and accessories. The padded back, along with shoulder and waist straps distribute the weight evenly and offer the highest degree of comfort.

The THURSO SURF manual pump does both INFLATE and DEFLATE, and is your best friend for getting your iSUP on to the water quickly or rolled up tightly into storage. A toggle switch makes both double and single action modes available for use at both low and high pressure. The recommended PSI is highlighted on the gauge so no worries about over or under inflating.

A Special Board for a Unique You

We wanted to enhance the EXPEDITION with a design to show our love and respect for Mother Nature and to make it beautiful. With that in mind we gave it a signature wood grain on its top. The wood graphic was scanned from real woods. We’ve used the most advanced printing techniques to print this on a PVC layer. The graphic looks absolutely authentic (and beautiful!).

One Board ... A Sea of Possibilities

With 3 removable fins the board can be set up in two ways. All 3 fins installed will give you the most stability (good for rough water). For speed and paddling a straight course, clip in only the center fin. No tools needed! Thanks to our Quick Lock technology, fin installation has never been so easy. Just slide in the fin and push the clip to lock it.

Free Your Hands

When it’s time to put the paddle down you’ve got plenty of rigging options. To make it even easier to clear the deck, practice Yoga/Pilates, lie down and relax, or just jump in the water we’ve added the paddle holder loops that were a big hit on our EXPEDITION. Store your paddle safely, securely, and easily on or off the water

More Storage and More Convenience

Unlike most boards, the THURSO SURF EXPEDITION features an all-new 4-point D-ring and bungee cord system at the tail, giving you extra storage space.

    I recommend this product

So far I’m very impressed with this paddle board. I’m so much faster. It’s lightweight. I can zip upstream & navigate branches quickly. My only complaint is the Velcro for my paddle is already showing wear. (I’ve probably paddled 4 or 5 times).

This is my first stand up paddle board and I absolutely love it. So glad I purchased it.

Slicing through the Water, Smiling all the Way!

I love this board. I have the Expedition and the Water Walker. For the record, I LOVE them both. I do not have any problem with the stability of this board but this board is not as stable as the Water Walker. To illustrate the difference in stability in the two boards - I can do a little jump on the top of the Water Walker and land but I have not tried that on the Expedition. I have not done any yoga on it- I do that on the Water Walker. . I did have the Expedition out in some white caps on the Barnegat Bay (NJ) just to see if I could stand on it in the chop and I did fine. (For the record, I snowboard and have good balance.) I feel the Expedition is a bit faster for the same amount of effort. If you are looking to do some serious distance and don't mind a learning curve when getting use to balancing on it….then this may be your board. Whatever board you go with, I strongly suggest getting the kayak seat and extra oar to convert the paddle. It is nice to change muscle usage and great for heavy winds. Comparing both boards to my Crosier SUP (hard board)- I would happily ride any of them. Inflatables are the way to do if you can not get a hard board on your roof or if you want to bring your board on vacation (flying). The backpacks that the come with are very nice quality. I wish they were slightly wider as these boards are heavy duty and hard to roll up. The single action pump was fantastic…but the two chamber must be wonderful. The paddles are fantastic! I like all the ties downs on both boards.

Heya Kim, This is so great! Stoked to hear you're digging both your Waterwalker and your Expedition! No doubt the Expedition is a little narrower and more efficient at cutting through the water. You've probably noticed it helps to use that pointed nose to turn into oncoming waves a bit to help you slice through them. Very cool that you've got a few different boards and plenty of experience to compare them. Have a blast out there! Keep paddling, Matt Social @ Thurso Surf

Love my board! Take it out on the Columbia, Yakima and Snake rivers all the time. I keep it on my trunk and when I get off work, pump it up and hit up whatever river I’m by. Fast, sturdy and high quality. Love it so much I bought another one for my wife!

    Thurso Surf

Hey Robert, those are some SUP dream destinations! Awesome that you and your wife are digging your new Expeditions and that it's so easy for you to pop the trunk and paddle out. Have a great start to the SUP season! See you on the water, -Matt, Social @ Thurso Surf

    Great all around board

Excellent board for day trips and touring. I used it exclusively in the Caribbean doing mostly day trips and downwinders. For easier travel, I transported it deflated in a smaller duffel. I did one overnight tour with it between islands and in some relatively big seas for sup. I found the additional paddle blade attachment useful for these longer rougher stretches of ocean where standing up became exhausting.

    Thurso Surf

Hey Joshua, That's awesome! Sounds like you've had a chance to really push yourself and your board. Nothing like a bit of island hopping. We're stoked to hear you've made your Expedition your traveling companion. See you on the water, -Matt Social @ Thurso Surf
