What’s behind these benefits?
THURSO values apply to current Waterwalker, Expedition, Max and Tranquility Full Packages. Junior models and Board Only differ. Examples do not represent every brand or a shared performance/lifespan test.
- Woven drop-stitch core
- Woven drop-stitch helps the inflated board hold its shape. Simpler cores may flex under a rider’s load; pressure, board size and rider weight also affect flex.
- Fused double-layer PVC
- Fusion bonds two PVC layers to reinforce the outer shell. Single-layer examples have less material reinforcement; construction quality and care also affect resistance to knocks and wear.
- Heat-welded rails
- Heat-welded rails reduce reliance on glue at the seam. Glue-based joints can weaken with heat and age. This describes a construction trade-off, not a promised lifespan.
- Carbon hybrid paddle
- The Full Package paddle uses carbon-hybrid construction and adjusts for height. A heavier paddle means more weight to lift between strokes. Exact weights and fatigue vary by paddle and rider.
- Included in 2026 Full Package
- Selected 2026 adult Full Packages include a rechargeable electric pump, roller backpack and 10-Can Soft Cooler Bag. Basic kits may use manual pumps or simpler bags; check the selected package for exact contents.
- 30-day returns · terms apply
- 2026 boards have a 5-year limited warranty on their seams and 2 years on other board defects; accessory coverage differs. Returns are within 30 days of delivery. Customers pay change-of-mind return shipping.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Waterwalker 126 (10'6) is the best all-around choice for most beginners. At 31 inches wide with 130-180 lbs capacity, it offers excellent stability without sacrificing performance. It is Thurso Surf's best-selling model and comes with everything needed to start paddling.
The main differences are size and weight capacity. The 120 (10') suits riders 100-150 lbs and is the most maneuverable. The 126 (10'6) fits 130-180 lbs and is the most versatile. The 132 (11') handles 160-210 lbs and offers maximum stability for larger riders or tandem paddling.
All-around boards can handle small waves and light surf conditions, though they are not optimized for surfing. The Waterwalker 120 is the most maneuverable option for occasional wave riding. For dedicated surfing, consider Thurso's soft top or epoxy surfboard lineup instead.
Thurso Surf all-around boards support 230 to 330 lbs depending on the model. The Waterwalker 120 holds up to 230 lbs, the 126 supports 275 lbs, and the 132 handles up to 330 lbs. Choose based on your body weight plus any gear you plan to carry.
Every Waterwalker ships as a complete kit including a 3-piece carbon-fibre shaft paddle, dual-chamber hand pump, coiled leash, snap-lock centre fin, repair kit, and a roller backpack. No additional purchases are needed to get on the water.
