The Expedition 150 is best for taller riders, heavier paddlers within its recommended range, and anyone who wants maximum glide for long-distance flatwater touring. It also makes more sense than an 11'6 board when you regularly carry extra gear for longer outings.

No, not as the best fit. While it is a high-volume touring board, a 150 kg rider is well above its recommended rider range, so stability and performance will suffer. For that load, a board like the Max or Orca is the safer choice.

A touring SUP is longer and shaped to hold a straighter line, which gives better glide and efficiency over distance. An all-around paddle board feels more versatile for casual mixed use, while the Expedition 150 is clearly the better tool for distance, tracking, and carrying touring gear.

Stable to the point of boring :o)

This is a review for a 4.7 inch thick board. I normally paddle a 28" wide Nixy Manhattan, which never lets you relax, as it has very little primary stability. The Thurso Expedition 150 is incredibly stable, including in wind gusts and moderate chop, relatively fast [slower than a hardboard or the Manhattan, but much more satisfying than an all-purpose board], and surprisingly maneuverable for a board this wide and long. Safe and stable enough for a beginner, and not too boring for an intermediate paddler. Very suitable for long distance paddling, easy on your feet, would give you a workout if you want to paddle harder, but mostly allowes you to feel super safe and comfortable in pretty much any conditions aside from extreme weather. Highly recommend! I'm 5.1, 140 pounds, and 56 yrs old, as a reference.

It's my first board

It's my first board, and while I may be a beginner (not an ablaut one, though) I found it impressively sized, robust, stable, pretty fast too, easy to control. Used it in tandem too, two adults or one adult & a child. I'm happy indeed.

I'm not so sure about those D-rings... used the board also with the kayak seat and the D-rings didn't give up but they don't look as new after the first use.
