Lesă pentru placă de surf și SUP
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. A leash keeps your board attached to you if you fall off. Without one, your board can drift away quickly in wind or current, leaving you stranded in open water. All Thurso Surf boards ship with a coiled leash included.
A coiled leash stays out of the water and reduces drag, making it ideal for flatwater paddling. A straight leash is preferred for surfing because it allows more freedom of movement in waves. Thurso Surf includes coiled leashes with SUP boards.
Loop the leash string through the D-ring at the tail of your board, then attach the rail saver velcro strap around the loop. Secure the ankle cuff above your ankle or below your knee. Make sure all velcro connections are tight before entering the water.
Your leash should be roughly the same length as your board or slightly longer. A 10-foot board pairs with a 10-foot leash. Too short and the board can snap back into you; too long and it creates unnecessary drag and tangle risk.
Rinse your leash with fresh water after each use, especially in saltwater. Store it uncoiled in a cool, dry place to prevent the coil from developing a permanent memory. Check the velcro and swivel regularly for wear and replace the leash if you notice fraying or stiffness.
