Why Choose Junior Paddle Boards?
Our Junior Paddle Boards are designed specifically for kids ages 5+. They offer a better match when it comes to size, weight, stability and speed for young paddlers to gain confidence on the water. Paddle boards for kids are often shorter to accomodate their height, lighter for easy transport, and wider to offer more stability. Our inflatable paddle boards for children will let them discover the thrill of paddleboarding and practice balance, coordination and paddling in a safe and supportive way.
How do Kids Start Paddleboarding?
For children who haven't learnt how to paddle yet, look into a multi-person paddle board to accompany your kids on the water, letting them experience the feel of paddleboarding. Once they're ready to step onto a paddle board, start on the knees to get the feel for paddling. Slowly start standing up and you'll find them confidently paddling around. Don't be scared of falling, as long as all your safety gear is on, falling is normal and is part of the learning process!
Can a Child use an Adult Size Paddle Board?
While they absolutely can use a SUP board designed for an adult, keep in mind it will be a little harder for them to maneuver around and stay balanced due the longer and more narrow build. However, if you think they're ready, go for the transition into a regular paddle board.
How to Keep Your Kids Safe on the Water
Stay safe while having fun. Make sure your child has all their safety gear. This includes: life jacket, a SUP coiled leash and any other appropriate safety items. While paddleboarding is all about adventure, stay within sight on calmer waters and try to avoid bad weather conditions. With the right precautions and equipment, paddleboarding can be a fun and safe activity for any age.
