Built with long distance paddling in mind, the Expedition 150 Touring paddle board is shaped like a spearpoint. Long and narrow, its glide and tracking are superior making it notably faster than other boards. Its pointed nose pierces through chop to keep you flying straight toward your target without losing speed. While it’s narrow relative to its length, the higher displacement of the Expedition paddle board makes it surprisingly forgiving as conditions become more challenging. For a 12‘6 paddle board this long, carbon enhanced rails are a must. They run the length of the racing paddle board ensuring rigidity beyond the capability of other inflatables giving you greater glide with every stroke and hardboard-like performance. Great board

I weigh 220lbs and took a 90lbs Weimaraner out with me. We did great and was able to maneuver easily.

Stable to the point of boring :o)

This is a review for a 4.7 inch thick board. I normally paddle a 28" wide Nixy Manhattan, which never lets you relax, as it has very little primary stability. The Thurso Expedition 150 is incredibly stable, including in wind gusts and moderate chop, relatively fast [slower than a hardboard or the Manhattan, but much more satisfying than an all-purpose board], and surprisingly maneuverable for a board this wide and long. Safe and stable enough for a beginner, and not too boring for an intermediate paddler. Very suitable for long distance paddling, easy on your feet, would give you a workout if you want to paddle harder, but mostly allowes you to feel super safe and comfortable in pretty much any conditions aside from extreme weather. Highly recommend! I'm 5.1, 140 pounds, and 56 yrs old, as a reference.

It's my first board

It's my first board, and while I may be a beginner (not an ablaut one, though) I found it impressively sized, robust, stable, pretty fast too, easy to control. Used it in tandem too, two adults or one adult & a child. I'm happy indeed.

I'm not so sure about those D-rings... used the board also with the kayak seat and the D-rings didn't give up but they don't look as new after the first use.

Awesome. I love the board.

No. It is not a surfboard. Paddleboards can handle the small wakes of passing motorboats and shore waves, however, it is not designed for surfing large, active water or waves.

You can inflate your SUP using any one of our electric or hand-pump pumps designed specifically for inflating our line of iSUPs.

Yes! THURSO SURF iSUP boards are designed with double layers of PVC, so they are extremely durable and can handle heavy usage. iSUPs are known to be more durable, than wood paddle boards, and are also more portable and storable.

Boards may deflate over time (up to 4 psi in 7 days depending on the change in temperature). Be sure to check board pressure before paddling.
