SUP Explorer – The Best Places to Stand Up Paddle Board
Wahlesch Lake is a beautiful glacier fed lake with a beautiful backdrop of snowcapped mountains set in the Skagit Range east of Chilliwack. It’s a bit of a challenge to get there, but that’s half the fun. Activities include SUP, camping, picnicking, swimming, boating, and fishing. Hiking, mountain biking and backcountry exploration are also popular in the area. |
The lake can be found about 10km up the Wahlesch Lake forest service road. The drive is a bit tricky because the road is rough and heavily potholed. It sometimes washes out during the off season. You will need an all wheel drive vehicle. There is an official BC Hydro camp ground at the north end of the lake although you are free to camp anywhere you like. Like any forest service road location, anything you pack in you must pack out.
